DM500HD v1 and v2 images

It looks that all the images for DM500HDv1 can also be installed in DM500HDv2. Is it right?

I installed the same Nemesis2.3-dm500hd-e2-OE(1.6)-SVN(095r6).nfi in both DM500HD and DM500HDv2 and it works well in both.
Version 2 is supposed to accept only OE2.0 images (not OE1.6). Nemesis never made OE2.0 immages, they stopped at OE1.6.

Right, it´s the installation in flash. I don´t use multiboot. I have installed Nemesis-es twice in both receivers and never installed SSLs prior to image. The first image installed was the original Dreambox firmware (bought new receivers with it).

This is the official site with the official "factory" images, https://www.dreamboxupdate.com/The drivers, and SSL are different in v2 and v1 versions, so I am surprised as I wrote that the exact same image will work on v2 and v1 boxes. Are you sure your boxes are v2 ? Can you post here a photo of the sticker with the serial of the box ? It should be printed clearly "DM500HD v2" on it. Admin

Just checked the stickers. You were right,they really both are DM500 HD, which means they both are version 1. My mistake, I´m sorry. I was convinced the newer is version 2, as there´s a small difference between them - there´s no red light in it when switching it on (there is in the older one). So it must be a newer version of the version 1. My apologies Admin.

Don't worry ;o), so now we know why v1 images work on both your boxes. The Led, that's a possible modification yes or even software that doesn't use anymore the red, but it's a minor thing as it doesn't change anything on the behavior of the box. Just to add to the whole story. Now I´m glad they are both version 1. So I can install OE1.6 images in them. And then I can install subtitles plugin Drtic which is indismissable (I´m a little hard of hearing) and which can´t install in images higher than OE1.6. I have very many movies recorded and I use Drtic to install and play back the subtitles. So I´m committed to old boxes and old images. See my point?
