Backup DM8000 Satellite settings? Upgrade problem!

Hi all,
I just received the japhar sim I ordered for my DM8000 to replace the ferrari sim.
I found the instructions how to do it... load ssl84j first then change sim then load new image, I chose BlackHole_IPTV_Japhar_DM8000HD_wIPTV_v22 hopefully it will be great. (I hope I understood correctly...)
The thing is that I have a moving Gibertini dish (45E-30W) and a Mabo 1.80 (28E) on Tuner A (Diseq 1.0) that took me a while to setup and I'd like to not have to do it all over again...
Is there a way to backup my dish settings and reload them after the upgrade???
And a second question is I read the image has quite a lot free IPTV channels. Does that mean that they never close or do we need to upgrade something every now and then?
