Lately my DM8000 (image OpenPLi 2.1-Japhar-SIM) developed a nasty habit of restarting uncontrolled, without my command. It usually happens after I switch it on (from stand by). After the restart it works normally, no matter how long. It also means I can´t use the timer to set up recordings.

Did you checked the Capacitors, the 7 that generally have to be replaced after few years of use, if the power supply / DM8000HD is a clone ?

The capacitors you mean are the 7 largest?

4 1000uF 35V
2 220uF 250V
1 2200uF 10V

220uF and 2200uF measuring ok. But not the four 1000uF.

At least the 4 x 1000uF 35V yes, and often the small one, 47uF/50V or 22uF/50V (C109)

Yes, the 2 big are not alway necessary to replace, 2 big (100uF/400V or 220uF/250V depending of your PSU version)
