I didn't had time to take a look at the DM900UHD yet, but as it's mostly comparable to the DM520HD, here are few points.

- Files to load the image into the box are tar.gz or tar.xz

- All the normal tools, such as Putty, FTP, Telnet, WinSCP, DCC etc will work, as it's always Enigma2 software, also if it's for another CPU/Chipset (ARM).

- Naturally all software compiled for MIPS will NOT work on ARM, so you need to have the software compiled for ARM Architecture instead of MIPS. So for example CCcam doesn't exist, only for MIPS, so you will not have it for ARM boxes.

- The Rescue mode is used to flash the image, better to not change it and keep as the manufacturer put it, so you should have no problem with the clone or the original.

- The Patching of the images look like naturally to need the Drivers, but we have no idea about what else (if there is a bootloader/SSL etc). We had no time to take a look at it, we asked the clone manufacturer and support sections but none are capable of answering, and clone has only few images... in fact no real support.

We would like to do a Japhar sim version, as we done for the DM520HD, but all depends of the ressources we have left and time. So the current priority is DM8000HD, then after only the DM900UHD.

For the Fun, the clone DM900UHD is the most interesting, for the sport as we can tell it ;o), as patching is definitely fun as well as you can swap the sim to Japhar then (when available). Just be sure to never flash a "Rescue Manager", probably this is the best advise, then you will always be able to recover the box.
