Hi All.
I have a DM800HD continually rebooting, I have tried different images, they all load but when I do a final boot it just loads about 10% then reboots.

I can put it into service mode and flasher talks to it but what I wondering is before buying an N3 chip for it maybe a factory reset would do the trick.

I tried connecting thro the com port with hyperterm but cannot find a comms combination that works.

Does anyone know what the basic comms setting are to allow me to get into setup???

Replace the 4 big capacitors on the DM800HD,

I have now found out that 115baud will get a response from the dreambox but pressing any key or S dos not allow me in, it just stops the output from the box.

Do you think n N3 sim would help me ?

Yes, you need to check the Capacitors, I bet this is the actual problem.

Then naturally you can upgrade to Japhar Sim, and you will be able to use Japhar images as well as Ferrari and Sim2 2.01 and 2.10.

Could also be a weak power supply, these boxes needs at least a 2 amps 12vdc psu, but better is a 3 amps or higher till 5 amps.

Second thought, remove the tuner, and see if the box starts up.

I pulled it apart to check the capacitors which are all OK.

I wasnt able to do anything by hyperterming the box, it just ran straight thro and ignored my keystroke.

I then decided to flash it with flasher v1.1 using an image that was for a 800hdse v2, which I knew would not work but it went in.
I then reflashed an old Nemisis image that I used a couple of years ago and Bingo it is now booting fine.
I can now put any 800hd image on and it boots OK, IPTV wont work but its a start.

Then your box is not a DM800HD... Is the front panel black and white or color ?
