Hi I remember my satellite system I used about 18-20 years ago; a dreambox with a 1.2 channel master dish. I cannot remember the dreambox model number, but I do recall getting the bootloader corrupted and having to jtag the box to get it to work again.
This involved opening the box and soldering I think 4 or 6 wires to a chip and then reloading the bootloader.
Anyway, thinking of going into the satellite world again. With a Dreambox DM525 with that in mind am I correct in thinking that the days of jtag are gone????.
Hope I have done this correct and posted on the correct forum sub division.

The JTAG fixes for the DM500s are passed since many years, so there is no need of JTAG anymore for newer DM boxes to restore the bootloader.

A USB cable is enough to fix any "old" box (from DM800HDpvr and after until DM800HDse/DM8000HD).

The latest boxes DM52xHD/DM9x0UHD have no such problem if you load a wrong image, you will just have to reflash a good compatible image with your sim in the box and it will work again.
