Hello everyone, I use Japhar sim and open pli image 7.3Star. My receiver is DM 800 HDse V1. Can I do an online update of the image? Is there a danger that if I do update something to damage or not start the receiver after that or give a green screen?
I ask because I have recently used Japhar sim and I have not yet fully explored this new sim card.

Yes you can do online update (for Japhar Team built images, but not DMM images or other Teams), if your image is not the latest one published of that version (We built the OpenPLi x.xstar). The feeds are online and allow you also to install plugins or extra software that is not standard in the image, like drivers etc.

The update will work for the same version/release of the image, but a 7.3 will not become a 8.0, as such changes generally implicates big changes in the image, like gclib libraries that are fundamental for all the image and software. A full reflash is necessary then, you can backup some configurations (Channel lists with DreamSet or DreamBoxEdit) and then manually some configuration files for cams etc.

Yes, I know that with an online update, the image will not change from 7.3 to 8.
I have a small problem, when scanning some transponders don't want to scan sometimes and it shows me a green screen and the receiver crashed and starts up. It's very annoying and the sed restart doesn't want to scan me again and shows me a green screen again. The receiver crashes when trying to scan certain transponders. So I wonder if I did an online update if this won't fix it?

Check first if you have enough Flash memory in the box, as often green screens come with problem of not enough memory available.

Yes, I thought so too, because I use oscam and sometimes free memory decreases a lot. I'm thinking of trying to scan the transponders when the oscam is turned off. Softcam setup - none.
I will test in the coming days and write whether there is a change in the transponder scan and whether the crash and green screens have disappeared.

Today I tested and when the flash memory is free, the channel scan is normal and the receiver does not crash.
I want to make a full backup of the image, can you recommend me a working plugin with which to do it? I download BackupSuite from the menu of open 7.3 star but it doesn't work.
