For cable TV in Switzerland, what would be a good (and inexpensive) DVB-C receiver with OpenPLI or VTI ?
Simple receiver, whit a usb key slot for recording.

Personally I really like the DM520HD which is H264 and H265 (but not UHD), the best is the DM525HD Combo (with Terrestrial/Cable and Satellite). You also have the DM520HDmini which is very small but only in Satellite version.

The DM52xHD is Cable and Terrestrial (DVB-T2), there is the Sat version, and there is the Combo (Sat+C/T2).

Just received a DM520HD. It's original dreambox (with soldered tpm).
I flashed a "DM52xHD OpenPLi 9.xStar for Dreambox" (Original version, not Japhar).
Working fine.

Aside from the target support Dreambox or clone, what are the differences in operation between the Original version and the Japhar version ?

There is no difference, just enjoy your box (and you paid it very cheap, 18 CHF ;o)

I replaced most of my boxes with DM525HD Combo (Sat+Terrestrial/Cable), running our OpenPLi image, that works great on them.

I bought it, you were the other person who wanted it ? Got also for 88 CHF (incuding 9 Postage) for a VU+ Solo 4k, with 6 tuners Sat board (7376 FBC), and 2 tuner Sat board (AVL6222)... and premium, inside a SSR v7 (still active) and a HD+ (HD05) card (I am trying to find a way to use it).

The PSU for the DM52x is the same as on your DM800HDse... so in that case better to keep your DM800HDse, as the remote and the PSU are compatible with the DM52x. You can also get the PSU on Aliexpress, I will give you the details, it's very cheap, 2-3 USD.

A guy got my R account cancelled, because I bought with pickup and wanted him to ship, and he was really hell... so I had to get a new R.
