1) Use small rs232 board connected to receiver and use rs232 cable connected to computer.

2) Power on the box

3) Run UpdateAllFlash.exe on PC and choose the correct com port

4) Open "duo boot.bin"

5) Click update, it will show progress, wait it to finish.

6) Remove small rs232 board and cable

7) Power off, and power on again, box will show starting, now you can use usb, update the image you want with USB Stick

(IMPORTANT : Use LAPTOP with WinXP OS and REAL RS232 port)

Hi everyone i have done this with two boxes after installing win xp!

On my third box i can not get it to complete got it to 97 percent once! I have tried many times sometimes 6% before it stops sometimes 57% tried many times am i wasting my time what else can i try?

Try to swap the security chip from a working box to that box and redo it. Perhaps it's the security chip upgrading wrongly (probably you could even upgrade the security chip on the working box and put it back to that non working one).

ok some of the security chips are fixed and some i can just pull out not sure whats the best thing to do?

I take it the fixed ones are version 2 maybe?

You can take any of them, but remember that :

- Security file to upload is different, not same for v2.0 chip or v3.x chip.

- The image loaded must be also compatible, probably best is to preload a V2/V2a only so it works with v2.0 and v3.x security chips.

Ok mate so what you saying is the duo boot bin is the wrong file for the particular security chip then? i could not find a different one?

There is 2 security chips.

- v1.0 and v2.0, that have their own security bin.

- v3.x that has 3 bin versions (v3.0, v3.0beta and v3.2).

You naturally need to load the right bin to the right chip, as there is 2 different chips.
