Got my sim yesterday in the mail as a surprise, great!
Flashed openBH, did not like it, then May openpli with iptv.
Box ran fine, except:
- no channels found on DVBC scan
- not a single IPTV channel returns anything
Doh!

Here's some facts:
- Internet connection is fine, CAM download and IPTV player updates go smooth, as do JAM 5.2 channel updates
- same cable, same network, a pc card finds all the DVBC channels no problem
- PC plays the IPTV links ie VEVO 1 HD without a problem

So I must doing something wrong with the DM8000 original.
Why not try the normal openpli image and see if that is working.
So Japhar sim out, Dream sim in, button up on power on.

Well bad idea. Ever since the box displays ERROR upon power on, no matter which sim is in.

So I guess I'm in for some oldschool flashing?
No problem, but now I rather wait for your advice.

Hello Worg,

The DM8000HD has some extra security features, and new clone images OE2.0 are gettings some problems at boot. So you were mostly there when you installed the OpenPLi 4.0 IPTV from here, and got no DVB-C and IPTV. This was due to a "false boot" where you didn't got the bootscreen (Green fields for the actual release).

As you uploaded an original image, you would need now to get back the right clone software into the box, using the RS232 cable (you will need the Rs232 cable + a PC with WinXP and real RS232 for it if possible to have most chances of recovery, as the USB-RS232 are really not reliable).

You will need to use our JapharFlasher (DreamUp for Japhar), to restore your box into the correct Clone software.

This done you will have to reflash the OpenPLi 4.0 IPTV image for DM8000HD Japhar, and boot the box. If you have no green bootscreen, then you will have to turn off the power. Wait 1 minute and then turn on again, this until you have that (vicious ;o)) green bootlogo.

Then all will work smoothly. This is the "last bug" or security we didn't defeated, yet !

P.S.: The ERROR message generally is due to the fact that the sim is not correctly inserted/in contact with the sim card socket. Remove the Original Sim and reinsert the Japhar One. I hope you will have no more ERROR.

I've used JapharFlasher with allsim.
Still Error.
Then flashed openpli original with Japharflasher (and ofiginal sim).
Still error.

Then I closely inspected the Sim holder and found the culprit, some pins were stuck down.
So you were right, Error was from Sim socket.

Now I'm back with orig sim and orig openpli, all works well.

Can I simplay flash the latest Japhar image now, or do I need to start with allsim bootloader again?
