A long time ago I've done this with these files and steps.
But there are also risks, it can happen that you changed your box into a brick, or may ruin the security chip.
It is also possible that if it goes wrong you must perform the JTAG method to bring the box back to life.
Also be sure that your chip is a v1 chip, best is to check it with a v2 image file before you do these process.

But still, if you do this, do it at your own risk, it was a long time ago that I did it which in my case succeded.

These files were once available on the Dreambox china forum, and there were some users who had issues to complete all the steps.

Anyway, these are the instructions and files for an upgrade of a Ferrari security chip v1 to v2 version.
In order to be able to make use of the v2a image files.
The whole is in the zip file.

Instructions are..

This is for old ferrari security chips, V1-V2 to upgrade for using v2a images.
All must be done with the rs232 cable + adapter with the exception of step 5 and 6.

DO THIS :
Step 1 -installing the soloboot.bin with UpdateAllFlash.exe
Step 2 -installing the UPFLASH120227.bin with renewflash.exe
Step 3 -Erase the memory with ERASE126.exe
Step 4 -installing the Secret SOLO-120229.bin with secupd111230.exe
Step 5 -installing the cfe_solo_2.0 with a usb pen drive
Step 6 -installing a image v2a with the usb pen drive

Steps 1, 3, 4 First activate the uploader, then Power ON solo receiver.
You will see update progress bar- Wait till it finish and then close it.
Power OFF the box.
Goto the next step.

Step 3 First Power ON solo receiver, then activate the eraser.
Wait till it finish and then close it.
Power OFF the box.
Goto the next step.
