Hello everyone, I need help.

After a bad upload image my DM500HD stopped working. I need a usb driver for windows 7 because it still shows that the device was not recognized.

Can you help ?

Uninstall the driver and reinstall using the driver in the JapharFlasher topic below,

Also, check to be sure that your cable is not only an USB "power cable", as there is different types of cable... try more than one USB Cable connected from PC to the Service port on the back of your DM500HD.

As far as I remember it could be an defective U901/CP2102
This chip must be recognized when the service port is connected without powering on the box.
The chip itself uses the 5v from the usb to activate.
More about this, see here at jb8a8f8.com.

But...
It may also be a issue with the crystal Y800, or an inductor interruption near it.
However, when that happens, then you should have the issue that all the connections on the back not working.

I currently recognize the device but I cannot connect to it via dreamup or putty. I will add that the LEDs 2 and 5 light up red after buffering, which is probably good? What else can you check, I'm slowly losing power and I'm thinking about new equipment ...

Try with other cables, as the USB Cable exist in version only to provide power/5V and not data. It could be that you use a wrong cable. Try also with another computer that is like Win7 or WinXP, try another USB Port of your computer as well.

As johnny told, when you insert the USB Cable into the PC (connected to the box) or vice-versa, it should detect the box (also if the Dreambox is not powered on).

Which image did you uploaded into the box (for which sim) that got your box dead ? As for sure just inserting the sim for that image, your box could get back to life. Then you can flash back a compatible image for your old sim if you want or continue to use the sim of the current loaded image. This is often the way used if the RS232/Service port is no more active in a NO CA ERROR case as this one seems to be.
