You need to flash a new image into your box,
Flash our OpenPLi 7.2star image you will find on link below,
DM920UHD OpenPLi 7.2star :
http://www.ourdreambox.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=21226Do it, when you have the DHCP on the LCD, as you explained.

Connect to the Mini-USB Service port on the back of the DM920UHD and Putty to enter with the Putty Terminal in Serial mode (from your PC) into the bootloader. It looks like you corrupted something in the box. Naturally your box MUST be connected to the Modem/Router with a RJ45 cable (try to remove and reinsert to see if it gives you an IP address).
If you want I could access your box with Teamviewer 14.x, you need to execute the install file as for private use (not install) and give me the ID+PIN/Pass (via PM naturally), before you will need to have the Putty connected with the mini-USB cable to the box with your computer, and access to the terminal/DM920UHD. I will re-apply the bootloader update that seems to have gone wrong.

Re: Dream Box DM920 Front Panel Red Light Blinking - 05/20/20 01:03 PM
Respected Sir,
The reason for the above problem is, yesterday I started updating the latest rescue loader for dreambox dm 920 via ftp. The file name is shown below:-
zImage-rescue-3.14-r0-dm920-20200511.bin
then i executed the below code into telnet
flash-rescue /tmp/*.bin
after running the above code in telnet, message from telnet was:-
manufacturer id : c2
memory type : 20
memory density : 19
read it ok
comparing 2848 sectors
erasing 2846 sectors
writing 45536 pages
verifying 2846 sectors
flash done
Request you to resolve by Teamviewer. I will give you the ID & Password.
Ok, i will connect to putty with mini usb cable & what are the parameters I need to update in putty, in order to access for terminal.

Sure, once you have the Putty/Terminal working let me know.
The COM Port depends of the one selected by your PC for it, but you should be able to find it on the "hardware section" where you have all hardware elements listed of your computer.
Then the speed must be 115200bps.
So you will have to select the Serial in Putty, and write COM? with the port, COM1, COM2, COM3, etc, then add the 115200 speed.
Once all is setup, start the Teamviewer and advise me, so I can take a look at it and tell/help you.

Re: Dream Box DM920 Front Panel Red Light Blinking - 05/21/20 03:24 PM
Respected,
This is regarding dream box dm 920
After blinking the red light for number of hours (2 days). Yesterday night once again I switched off & switched on & touched my finger on the blinking red light immediately. All of a sudden my dreambox displayed Rescue Mode
http://dm920.local.lan/Hence, I copied & pasted
http://dm920.local.lan/ in the browser
& uploaded the below files with the latest firmware into my dreambox & the dreambox got successfully flashed
dreambox-image-deb-dm920-20200515.tar.xz
Could you please suggest, where I was wrong in telnet after transferring the "zImage-rescue-3.14-r0-dm920-20200511.bin" via FTP
then i executed the below code into telnet
flash-rescue /tmp/*.bin
1. Any other code I need to execute in telnet after flash-rescue /tmp/*.bin so that dreambox do not work in backgound.
2. Presently I am using latest dreambox image. As suggested by you in #21373 - 05/20/20 10:24 AM. Whether I can continue to use
My latest Dreambox image
OR

The OpenPLi 7.2star is working very well on the DM920UHD, so you can no problem use it in your box, we had more than 15 000 downloads on the past 6 weeks.

Go on the DM920UHD Section for the images, and select the one you want from there.
I only checked the links you published, and both worked. If it wasn't for your box, then go on the right section for your box and find the right link for your box.

Respected Sir,
Regarding Dream Box DM 920 UHD
My box is running with the below software & .bin
dreambox-image-deb-dm920-20200515.tar.xz
zImage-rescue-3.14-r0-dm920-20200511.bin
Now, there is a latest software & .bin available @
https://www.dreamboxupdate.com/opendreambox/2.5/unstable/images/dm920/index.php which is shown below:-
dreambox-image-deb-dm920-20200526.tar.xz
zImage-rescue-3.14-r0-dm920-20200525.bin
My concern is, in order to flash
"dreambox-image-deb-dm920-20200526.tar.xz" how to install "zImage-rescue-3.14-r0-dm920-20200525.bin"
Thanks

Re: Dream Box DM920 Front Panel Red Light Blinking - 05/27/20 07:55 PM
You don't have to flash the bootloader, that stays inside the box (it's a different partition), and the image doesn't need to be flashed again, you just have to do the online update that is available in the Parameters menu of the image/GUI. It will update the software differences between the 26 and 11 version, and you will have all good and upated.

Re: Dream Box DM920 Front Panel Red Light Blinking - 05/28/20 08:53 AM
Pressing the frontpanel button you set your box to rescue mode, you should flash the new image and it will boot normaly.
Or the other option is to send the reverting commands, to set it as boot and no more rescue mode. Telnet/SSH to the rescue modem/partition and then send command below.
echo "normal" >> /proc/stb/fp/boot_mode && reboot

Re: Dream Box DM920 Front Panel Red Light Blinking - 05/28/20 01:39 PM
Your box is set on "rescue" mode so you have to change this, sending the command while you are logged in terminal mode (telnet/ssh). For it use Telnet on your PC computer or Putty software.
"echo "normal" >> /proc/stb/fp/boot_mode && reboot"

Re: Dream Box DM920 Front Panel Red Light Blinking - 05/28/20 04:41 PM
The box should now reboot (as you see you have at the end of the command the "reboot" command).
And the DM920UHD should be in "normal" mode now, and no more in "rescue" mode.

Respected Sir,
I need to flash the below latest image into DM920UHD
dreambox-image-deb-dm920-20200526.tar.xz

Re: Dream Box DM920 Front Panel Red Light Blinking - 05/28/20 05:10 PM
The rescue mode is set to flash an image, so if you press the frontpanel button it's for flashing an image.
Then once you have the address IP or dm920.local.lan, you flash the image with your browser (Chrome, Explorer/Edge, Firefox, Safari etc).

"Rescue mode - Waiting for DHCP" by this message I will not be able to flash the latest firmware.

Re: Dream Box DM920 Front Panel Red Light Blinking - 05/28/20 05:44 PM
If it waits for an IP from the DHCP, check your network and cabling... as it means the box doesn't communicate with your Router/Modem. You can always reboot your modem, generally it fixes bugs and problems as you have. As the problem is due to your network and box not connected to it... not the box itself.
You have a network problem. The "Waiting DHCP" is normal, as it requests from your modem an IP address, and waits until your modem gives one to it. It can take various minutes to obtain it.
