Newbie Question DM800HD NC3 SuperSim3

Hi, i have a DM800HD and it was last updated 2014.
So now i am pretty new to all images in the scene.
I was wondering what the Japhar Sim does exactly?
Is it something i would need? What features does it have?
What image is most recommended to use?

I flashed OpenPli latest from their homepage but flashexpander did not work (crashed) and eparted was not possible to install.

Any help and information is appreciated

First of all is open your box to see which sim you have on it. The sim is just below of the Tuner and before the LCD/Frontpanel.

The Japhar Sim replaces the old sim in the box, allowing you to use all images on the Japhar DM800HDpvr section below,

All images for Sim 1.0, Sim2 2.01, Sim2 2.10, Sim Ferrari and Sim Japhar will work in a box with the Japhar Sim.

What are the features of the Japhar Sim?

Have seen on ebay not sure if it is the same.

So it does not matter what sim i have in my original dm800HD just need to exchange it with the latest Japhar Sim and then flash after sim change or before sim change?

If anything does not work can i put the old sim back and reflash with a suitable sim or?

Yes, you can always put back the old sim, as you can install the Japhar, you can "reverse" to any other Sim the box.

The Sim Japhar for DM800HDpvr will give you access to all images built for Japhar, Sim2 2.01, Sim2 2.10 and Ferrari, as well as Sim 1.0.

All Software inside from April 2020... so many packages upgraded, latest April 2020 Enigma2 software, etc etc etc... it's like comparing Win10 with Win3.1, you have improvement in software including the latest GStreamer 1.17.0.1, latest SoftCams, latest libraries, latest Enigma2 etc etc. Image much quicker, optimized with OpenPLi latest software.

You will see as soon as you get it ;o). Once sim received, confirm us and we will activate it, as well as help you / give you support so all goees smoothly.

I tried with my dm800 hd pvr the latest normal enigma2 but the rotor / position didn`t work good sometimes hang.
With the latest orig. from dreambox the rotor worked fine.
So i would like to install the latest / stable with most features available. Is there a way besides from IPTV to watch also crypted channels free? Or only FTA ones?

The latest Japhar image, OpenPli 7.2star for DM800HDpvr, has the latest driver ever published by Dream, so it should work just fine.

Copy all the settings naturally (/etc/enigma2 folder) from your old installation (backup them) to the new one, so you can copy the settings file and have same as before for the setup.
