New Japhar Sim and DM8000 keeps crashing

Hi,

Just got a new Japhar Sim and DM8000 keeps crashing since replacing it.
The screen goes black every few hours.

Image installed: OpenPLi 8.xStar 20221106 GSt 1.18.5 v6

I was using the Ferrari Sim up to this with the Blackhole image and had no issues with crashes.

First of all, try to remove everything (HDD/CD-DVD Drive/Extra Tuners/Cards) to see if this goes OK without.

Flash the image but first do a bad sector recovery, see topic below, while you flash the image.

I tried all the steps above and installed the image you suggested.
I have SSL84J also installed.

I can't get pasted the boot screen for installing the image.
Every time I reboot it stops there.

If it stops there, I would bet your box could have some malfunctions on the PSU, did you removed all possible power consumptions addons (tuner boards, HDD, CD/DVD, smartcards, CI, etc).

If it's a clone, this is definitely a problem on them, after some years the PSU are not enough reliable and need to have some parts replaced.

Also try to install your old image you told that was working, with the Ferrari Sim, as the Ferrari images will work with a Japhar Sim. Just to see if you have the same issues.

I just reinstalled my old Blackhole image that was running on the Ferrari SIM.

It booted first go.

Try to install this image, also the boot is long as the DMM anti-clone security on the latest drivers we use is doing a lot of computation... so it would take few minutes to boot.

Flash the SSL84J, then reboot and flash the image (don't flash after any SSL on top of the image, the ssl is already built-in in the image).

If you still have problems, please post a foto of the LCD screen and where it is of the boot (screen of TV as well).

That's the one you said to try in your first reply above.

It won't go past the boot for installing the image after I install it.

I installed the latest japhar blackhole image and that also boots.

I there any chance there could be an issue with the openpli image.

There could be multiple reasons why it doesn't boot, this is the reason why it's important to know exactly what you have on the LCD screen of your DM8000HD when you think it stops booting, and that you flash the image at the end only and not after flash any other thing such as the SSL (as it's already built-in the image).

The image is working, it's the official image patched with Japhar Drivers and we done the backup of it, that is the image you flash.

That's the image I opened this thread about.
The screen goes black every few hours.

If it shows an IP address, as I can see on the last LCD screen, at boot... its like if the button was pressed (UP/DOWN) or the boot data (like an autoexec.bat) was corrupted.

This STOP is requesting to flash an image (it shows the SSL software to upload the image) if you enter the IP address on your browser.

Try again the bad sector recovery flashing the image and to reset the BIOS.

I have tried both the bad sector recovery and the reset BIOS, again.

It still won't boot.

Try few older images, now you can flash without Boot Reset and Bad Sector recovery, and let us know what happens.

The above screenshot is only the bad sector recovery, not the BIOS Reset (http://www.ourdreambox.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=5234#Post5234, if the box was having a multiboot the BIOS configuration was modified and it's important to reset it).

I didn’t see any point uploading a pic of the BIOS reset as there is nothing to take a pic of.

That image is the only one that I can’t get to boot

I also did a Flash Dump


All other images install and boot.

This is the corrupted one.

Do you have another copy of it so I can test, please.

We patched it directly, so if it failed (the backup), we will have to rebuild a new one patched,

I will let you know as soon as we do one, on this topic.
