First FIX for PSU, do this on ALL CLONE DM8000HD PSU

This needs to be repleaced ALWAYS, as the PSU in the DM8000 goes very high in temperature and YOU MUST replace by best part possible, there is Rubycon 105 degrees as well as 130 degrees, so better part you put longer the PSU will last.

P.S.: Did you checked the capacitors on your clone PSU ? I would change the 2 big 220uF/250V (V1) or 100uF/400V (V2) (depending of your PSU version), 4 large ones (1000uF/35V) and the one small that is 22uF/50V (C109) Model V1 or 47uF/50V Model V2 depending of the version of the PSU (There is 2 versions). All must be minimum 105°, and if possible Rubycon high quality caps.

On V2 PSU for DM8000HD you could also have to replace a 47uF 50V capacitor (I put 47uF 63V 105°) near to the 2 big ones (100uF/400v), if the box just loops on the Dreambox LCD logo and never reaches the progress bar (loading image).

On V1 PSU for DM8000HD replacing C104 (47uF 25V) by a 47uF 50V get the box the power to have all HDD/DVD/Tuners working. This needs to be replaced if the box stays on the Dream logo at boot or just start booting and then stop and restart booting, going in loop.

All four tuners : 5L0565 PSU

Just about to purchase some capacitors for psu but the big caps you stated are 100uF/400V but on my psu are 220uF/250v (c100 and c101).

Cannot find any caps at 220uF/250v at temp 105c even Rubycon ones are only rated to 85c.

Please clarify.

I just bought some caps yesterday, and on a PSU I have here these are like yours 220uF/250V. I took these, take exactly the same as you have in your PSU, as there is 2 models of PSU for DM8000HD clones,

Yeah some psu modifications seems exiting as the use of 100uF/400V instead of 220uF/250V caps.

Which mainly helps to reduce the psu oscillation sound.
As for the operation of the psu it makes not really a differences.
But if you use a scope you may see a better result, the curve is a bit better.
So yes. it's improve the psu a bit, but not really necessary.

But this is my thoughts about it, an other cap believer may think different.

Managed to get all caps all Rubycon 105c ones.

Swap them on PSU but no joy, still only blue light on.

Any other suggestions please?

A bit to late response to this, but better late than never they say.

I think, check the vdc outputs from the psu, see if there is a failure with one of the outputs.

In any case, without having the 3v on the pin 4, the psu will not turn on.

isto faz com teu reiniciamento arranque seja mais rapido mesmo para atual image
E qual outras melhorias traz nesta troca antes que eu aplique a nova imagem

If your DM8000HD box reboots continuously without finishing the boot properly, then the issue is most probably the PSU capacitors. There is 2 models of PSU for the DM8000HD, but you will find out just watching at the capacitors, and replace by exactly the same values (uf/Volts and if possible 105 degrees ones).

This should fix the "continuous boot problem" that never finishes the boot due to dried capacitors that need replacement.

Duvida, sr. Admin no meu caso a mesma esta com a imagem OpenPLi 4.0 IPTV v22 from February 2017.
Tendo que atingir de 4 a 6 arranque e s sim tenho o total comando.

Se eu efetuasse a torca dos capacitores com a atual imagem disponvel isto venha ter um arranque mais rapido.

No, capacitors/condensators replacement is only fixing the reboot loop issue. If the boot fails (black screen) this is related to drivers and has nothing to do with hardware.
