No Ca or image failed ! Help ! - 12/21/15 04:24 AM

Trying for hours to solve the problem of Dreambox 800 hd (se) -Sunray sunshine.

It does not boot and when trying to flasg (mini flash) keep receiving led error "No Ca or image second failed.."

It has sim 2.10. Tried with Japhar nc3 .

When flashing with Japhar flasher (serial mode) it seems that image is written and loaded but when finished (with success) not booting again with the same error !!

Do not know that to do ( tried also with yassinov proggy NCF ver 3.0 and receive J45 cable error though cable connection to main computer verified and ok !)

Can anybody help solving ????

Did you tried the JapharFlasher ?

http://www.ourdreambox.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2012#Post2012

On the Sim2 boxes, the back button loads a Sim2 SSL, so it will work only if you have a sim2 in the box.

For the loading of the box, did you proceed as explained on the PDF posted ?

http://www.ourdreambox.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2283#Post2283

We had a similar problem with a DM800HD box, and it was staying at DM800HD on the DreamUp, nothing more and Johnny verdict was that the Flash chip was damaged.

Sunray box..
Mostly you have more success if you upload at least the boot loader with the browser.

Even better, Upload first the image file with the browser, do not reset, but go back one page with the browser and upload the boot loader.
After that you can turn off the box, and turn it back on.

Use the boot loader and image file that is suitable for your sim card.

Some info..
http://www.singapore-dreambox.com/how-to-flash-dm800-se-dm500hd-with-sunray-flashup-and-browser/

However, It could also be caused by the use of w7.
See this image to give some idea.

Re: No Ca or image failed ! Help ! - 12/21/15 06:44 PM

Thanks a lot for the replies.

I am doing everything "by the book".

Even tried "optiflasher" using com port and received a message to put the IP shown in the panel. But I receive no IP at the panel!!! .

It seems that I realy have a serious bootloader ( which is on board) problem and do not know how to solve it !!!

Please Try the JapharFlasher and let us know the result, as well as please put screenshots of the whole JapharFlasher window when it is stuck (attach with the "Switch to Full Reply Screen" reply box),

Check to be sure that the sim is properly inserted in the box, and try to flash the SSL84 ALLSIM only.

Then try both Sim, Sim2 and Sim Japhar, and tell us what happens exactly on the LCD (Pleas post a photo of the LCD).

http://www.ourdreambox.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=290#Post290

Also did you flashed activating the "Bad Sector Recovery" option ? It could be important. If you activate via Telnet on the IP of the bo and then you flash via the WebIf, you will see on the Web page appearing the bad sectors and log, copy/paste that text here.

Re: No Ca or image failed ! Help ! - 12/23/15 01:34 AM

I see some issues on your example images.

1. Use network is off
2. Local PC ip is different than the Select one
3. Remote (dreambox) ip is out of range of the 10.0.0.X network.
4. Based on your screenshots you use at least Windows 7 or higher.

But okay, on this way it will not succeed to flash the box.
The best way is to repair/flash the box with a windows Xp system, or what you also can try is to hold the front push button, switch the box on, hold the front push button until you see the ip on the oled display.

Use this ip in your browser to upload the image file and the boot loader.

Other method if present, same as above but than do it with the push button on the back.
This is a second option.

Needless to say that you need to connect your dreambox on your network and it must be a dhcp network.

Re: No Ca or image failed ! Help ! - 12/23/15 02:15 AM

What is the image you flashed ? What is the SSL in the box ? And What is the SSL of the image you want to flash ?

This happens generally when you have an old SSL on the box, and you want to flash the complete image... without going thru the SSL84 first then reboot and flash the full image then.

I do not know how your computer is connected to the internet network.
Wireless, or with a network cable.
And if cable, directly to the Dsl or cable modem, or with a extra router between.

Same with your dreambox.
Wireless, or with a network cable etc.

Suppose your dreambox is connected to a router, and not on the same network as your computer.
Than you are not be able to make a network connection between the two.
This may happen if both, or the dreambox is not connected to a dhcp network, and not connected on the same nework.

Also, the stop button method only works if the box is connected to a dhcp network, otherwise you may not get a ip.

Another issue could be that your dreambox has a fixed ip into the bios.
In that case connect the service usb port to your computer, and use optiflasher advanced serial mode, detect ports, and enable reset bios factory settings, press do job.

Or,
Use a serial modem program as putty.
Use this settings..
Bits per second = 115200
Data bits = 8
Parity = None
Stop bits = 1
Flow control = Xon / Xoff

Set it on receive..
Hold the front push button, and turn the dreambox on.

If all goes well, you see the bios from the box.
Go to the network settings, and check if it has a fixed ip.
Change it to Dhcp.
Or, do the reset bios option.

The dreambox network will than be normal, set to dhcp network.
Connect the dreambox to your network, and try the stop button method.
See if you get a network ip, one in the same range as your computer network.

Re: No Ca or image failed ! Help ! - 12/23/15 02:15 PM

Dear Johnny,

Many thanks to your professional reply.

The box is connected by cable to a hub and the hub connected to the router by cable. The dream-box does not have a fix IP .

I will try with Putty. Though I am not familiar with this option.

If you are able to help via team viewer it is preferable.

Seasons greetings !

Re: No Ca or image failed ! Help ! - 12/24/15 06:28 AM

It looks like to me a Dead Flash chip, Johnny do you have an idea about this issue ?

Admin

Re: No Ca or image failed ! Help ! - 12/24/15 07:51 AM

Yeah the image file on the flash chip is not compatible with the boot loader, or corrupted due the use of w7 or higher.
At least, assuming that the sim card in it is at least sim 2.10 because the #84 boot loader is only for this type of sim card.

However, suppose it has the sim 2.10 and so this boot loader #84 is suitable for the simcard, it needs only the dm800se Sunray SR4 Sim2.10 (openpli) image file (note that if you use the Nc3 Japhar sim card you need to use the ssl84J boot loader and image files are always named with Japhar and in this case for the dm800se).

However, most important thing to fix this issue it to use a windows XP system.
Windows 7 or higher will most likely not work, you can only upload the boot loader, a image file upload will not work.

You can only upload a image file with win7 or higher if the box is working.
And the best is to do it with the browser.

And so, use a computer with windows XP and fix the no ca found with optiflasher.
After that, upload a image file, one that is suitable for your sim card and type of receiver.
Or upload the image files with dreamup, or other upload software.

But the main thing is that you probably will not succeed to fix this with a windows 7 system, you will only succeed with a windows XP system.

So, maybe you are be able to ask an friend or family to use their Wxp system computer or laptop, to fix your receiver.
Because the success rate is greater than with any other system.

---- Working box with sim2.10, changing to the Nc3 japhar card ---

When the box is working with the Sim2.10 sim card.
Upload with Japhar flasher the ssl84J bootloader, do no reset, upload the Japhar dm800se image file, do not reset, upload again the ssl84J boot loader.

After that, turn off the box, replace the sim card to the Nc3 japhar card, and switch on the box.

If you want later to upload another Japhar image file, you can do it with your browser.
Upload the Japhar image file, do not reset, upload the ssl84J boot loader.
Restart your receiver etc..

Some thing you need to know..
When using the Japhar flasher, or other upload program.
Connect the box with the usb service port AND the network cable.
Be sure that your box on the network is connected in the same area as your computer, so in the same (dhcp) ip range.
Check your network leds on the back of the receiver, see if you see some activity.

Re: No Ca or image failed ! Help ! - 12/25/15 05:19 AM

Tried to fix with Optiflasher using Windows XP. No Joy! Still it pops up a message asking to put the IP that appears on the led screen of the receiver. But NO IP APPEARS !!!

Re: No Ca or image failed ! Help ! - 12/25/15 06:28 AM

The optiflasher no ca found fix goes over the usb service port.
See advanced button, detect ports, choose the correct comport, enable the no ca found fix, do job.
After that you can close this program.

But I think it's no longer needed, so go to the next step.

Sim 2.10 Sunray boxes.
Uploading bootloader and image file you can do with SunRay- FlashUp, for the normal instruction for Sunray boxes see this.
http://www.singapore-dreambox.com/how-to-flash-dm800-se-dm500hd-with-sunray-flashup-and-browser/

If you somehow can't get a connection with your browser, use then the SunRay- FlashUp flash button to upload the ssl84 bootloader and image file and if you still get the no ca found issue, upload the ssl84 bootloader again.

Normally this should be enough to get the box running, if there is no hardware issue with the box.

But maybe...
Also, some Sunray boxes have a jumper on the motherboard, this is placed under the tuner.
See if it's present, because without you always get the no ca found issue.

Re: No Ca or image failed ! Help ! - 12/26/15 01:57 AM

Hi,

Checked. The Junper exists. And as told, all done "by the book"...(http://www.singapore-dreambox.com/how-to-flash-dm800-se-dm500hd-with-sunray-flashup-and-browser/)....

Re: No Ca or image failed ! Help ! - 12/26/15 07:34 AM

Yeah okay, but the most important question is, are you be able to execute/finish these instructions.

So, if I understand correctly.
1. You are be able to make a connection with SunRay-FlashUp.
2. You have the Use network enabled.
3. When the flash button activate, you see the Status message, Box is in networked HTTP mode.
4. And you are be able to make a network connection to the box with your browser.
5. And you are be able to upload the image file trough the browser, and afterwards the boot loader.

But.. you still get the No Ca Found issue?
If so, Than you may have a hardware failure with your box.

Dear Johnny,

Many thanks for your efforts. I just cannot have any IP connection....No way..Only serial ..

Re: No Ca or image failed ! Help ! - 12/27/15 02:51 AM

Hmm, assuming that you have enough knowledge with network hardware/setting.
So that this can be excluded.

Than I think you may have a hardware problem with your motherboard.
Could be the network, flash nand chip, or even the cpu.
But still hard to say what it really can be.

I do not know if you have some technical skills to do some measurements on the main board.
If so, than I give you some information about this.

If not, you should consider to let it repaired by some one who have the knowledge to repair it.

You may also sent the motherboard to me, if you want that than sent me or Toysoft a private message for the address.

Re: No Ca or image failed ! Help ! - 01/17/16 08:25 AM

Box in repair but it's stuck on FIRST STAGE 1.2/400 {B
That's all.

Never seen this issue, I only know that it is not the bios rom, or the nand flash chip.
Security chip is also fine, and the cpu reads the security chip when booting.

But now the mystery..
When I replace the bios rom with a cardless version, the box boots fine.
So somehow it's related to the sim card security readings.

Very odd error, maybe that someone this has solved, and want to share it.
