No data on transponder. Timeout reading PAT

No data on transponder. Timeout reading PAT - 03/24/16 04:38 AM

Suddenly having problems.
Channels giving the message "No data on transponder. Timeout reading PAT"

I saw some forums and they say it might be the tuner.
I put in a different power adapter, and it looks better except the message sometimes still comes back for a second.

Can somebody tell me what kind of adapter I need. It is a ferrari clone box.
I'm using a 12 volt / 1 amp adapter now. (Just to make sure)

I would really be upset to find out my box is dying two days after I buy a supersim.

Any people having had the same problem?

The PSU should be at least 2 Amp, and would be better at 3 Amp,

Try with a PSU with more Amp and let us know,

Yes that is what I thought. The one I replaced was also 1 amp. The one I'm using now is 1 amp but is of bigger format.
This evening only a few times the error pop-up. It's like having freezes but still playing.
I will need some time to buy a proper power supply.
But I will let you know.

I just realise that i put a usbstick inside. I have read also that that can give problems.
I'll try some things tomorrow

Well, I removed the inside usb stick and there are no more glitches or pop-up messages coming.
Using a 2 Amp PSU.
I have ordered the 3 amp PSU, but am having doubts as to use the usb stick inside again.
I would like to know if other people use that usb-port.

The minimum, but okay power supply for the 500hd is 3 Amp.
However, I prefer a 5 Amp psu.

Usb, Better is to use a usb hub with his own power source.
That way, the receiver will not be ballast with a usb stick or hdd.

Yes indeed, but the inside port doesn't leave room for a cable.
And I thought that a 1GB wouldn't give much problems but apparently I was wrong.
I guess a usb-hub with the stick to free up memory and the disk for recordings and such, would be the way to go for me.
I don't trust the harddisk enough to put the freed up memory on it.
It's an old one already.

Okay, I thought you had the DM500HD box with a USB port on the back, but there are also versions that do not have it.

In any case, the USB 5V supply comes from the lt1940 dc to dc chip.
And this same 5v supply is also used in many other sections of the receiver, as well as the tuner.
So, it is always better to keep the 5V supply for USB separated.

Anyway, I prefer an all-in HDD docking station that is powered separately.
Like this one,
