Ciao,

This then let me think about codecs compatbility or even buggy.

For your crashes be sure to flash the image properly, ssl84j then reboot and flash the full image with the bad sector recovery enabled. A member here had problems with IPTV and it resulted of a corrupted image because not flashed with the above procedure and BSR was i think also useful.

I have updated my sim japhar NC v3 and openpli 4 with the sending JapharFlasher

Did you used the "Bad Sector Recovery" option enabled on JapharFlasher ?

I believe that the best would be to get a channel link open and to give it to the GStreamer developper so he can study where there is the issue to fix and for next GStreamer release it can work.

I then used the extra bad recovery section now functions everything perfectly

Thanks for the support I now enjoy with my IPTV whistle grin

;o), excellent, so definitely the tip of another member of the forum to clean the Flash with BSR was the good one !

Excuse me the question, why cleaning the flash with BSR solved this problem?

Re: Domanda ... - 02/21/16 02:52 AM

This is checking all the Flash chip and marks the bad blocks and clears the ones that are OK. So often the software marks bads, good blocks, and some bad blocks are still "valid". This is like formatting your Hard Disk, and it does a detailed work to be sure of all the Flash to be 100% reliable. In this case it means that some blocks were bad, but still not marked bad, and were corrupting the image, that wasn't working then properly. A good cleaing is always good to do, even more if you never done it before on a box that has few years age.

Thank you for the detailed explanation!
I think I have this problem on an old clone box, on dmesg I've read about a lot of bad blocks error, I thought that was faulty flash/ram, but maybe that with BSR procedure it will recover. wink

Re: Domanda ... - 02/21/16 03:22 AM

Most probably it will fix most of it, yes, and your box could become as new as the day you bought it after that BSR cleaning. This often happened to us. After a BSR flashing an image, it's good to reflash the image a second time, just to be sure all is perfectly in tune and nothing is left badly written in the image flashing.

Keep us informed, and try to flash few times the image clean, like 4-5 times just to get the flash chip more exercising ;o)
