VU+ Uno/Ultimo Tuner - Original and Clone (with V3 chip)

I just f.u.c.k up my VU+ Uno, inserting wrongly the Tuner back to the motherboard, so I put here the photo of how to insert it to be sure nobody else burn their VU+ Uno,

The first line of 2 pin must not be inserted, and then it must be inserted from the 2nd line to the last line of the slot.

Naturally when you update the box to v3.2 security bin, be sure you have the "clone tuner", as the security chip that is beeing updated is on that "clone tuner" ;o).

Concerning the update, it's important to note this :

You MUST use this configuration :

- WinXP
- Laptop
- Real RS232 (NOT USB-Rs232)
- Use the provided Rs232 cable and Rs232 board

Launch the software included on the v3.2 update, load the bin into it, then connect the cable Rs232 from REAL Rs232 port of your WinXP laptop, to the Rs232 board inserted on the back of the Receiver. Then turn on the Receiver. The blue bar should start until the end and show up a box telling the update is successfull.

You could have to retry various times, on my VU+ Duo V3 I had to try at least 15-20 times once, probably some sync problems or ground problems.

Hopefully the original tuner hasn't the problem of putting it wrong compared with the clone one, where do you get the "DUMMY TUNER" ?

Hello,

I installed on my 2 x VU+ Uno, one Dual Tuner Sat, and one Single Tuner Sat, and it works well. I used the images I posted here, on the VU+ Uno section,

On my Dual Tuner VU+ Uno, i used my image DE-OpenBlackHole 1.4, I think the best is that you try it first.

hi Toysoft,
I was away for a while, thats the reason for my late reply.
Two questions I still have. I think You are using with the twin tuner not an " original " one is this correct?
If Your answer is yes, where can I buy the suitible one for an v3.2 box?
Your answer would highly be appreciated, because the original
tuner does not work with DE-OpenBlackHole 1.4.

thanks in advance

Hello,

I use with both my boxes, VU+ Uno Clone Ferrari, an original tuner board. On one I have an Original Dual Tuner DVB-S2, and the other one I have an Original Single Tuner DVB-S2. Both working great with my DE-OpenBlackHole 1.4 image.

Connect the box with the serial cable, and check with a terminal program as Putty why the tuners crashes.
And it could help if you give a picture of the twin tuner, both sides.

Software...
But crashes are mostly related due software.
Best is to flash the box with a reliable old image file to see if at least the normal tuner works.
Twin tuner is a different story and may need a extra driver.

But again, check it with a serial port terminal program.

What if it's a hardware failure..
At this moment, and to think of if it's a hardware failure, than my best shot is that it may related to a weak voltage.
Maybe the 12v power supply, or one of the Dc to Dc ic's.
Nevertheless it's a guess, because without more info it's hard to say what it could be.
