Which OpenPLI for ugrading my Clone DM800HDSE

Hello,

I have a Clone DM800HDSE (looks like v1)
I am still running OpenPLI v4 on it. But sometimes it reboots due to an error.

The image file that was used to flash the firmware years ago is named: OpenPLi_4.0_Japhar_for_EStar_DM800HDse_wIPTV.nfi

But now I want to do an upgrade to a newer version of OpenPLI.

Which version can I use? I don't know the exact sim. So I am a bit afraid of bricking my device.

I hope somebody can advise.

You have a DM800HDse V1 with estar sim, and as you know there is no support since years for that sim. Team disappeared. Japhar Team done in 2015 a release of the Japhar's OpenPLi 4.0 as a gift for estar (unsupported) owners.

Today we are at the OpenPLi 7.2star, from Japhar Team, but to have your box working with latest GStreamer 1.17.0.1, or Extplayer3, as well as have drivers up to date (latest from DMM with support of all tuners incuding DVB-T2), you should upgrade the sim to Japhar.

If you upgrade to Japhar Sim, you will be able to use all the DM800HDse v1 Japhar images that you can find below,

For the Sim you can find it on the eshop of the Team, that helps to fund the server for the feeds and forum to be paid every month. The upgrade of the sim is very simple, as you would change a sim in your smartphone or mobile phone.

For estar the only image we consider stable is the one you are using, but that is mostly 4 years old now... and that is available to be downloaded on the link below.

Thanks a lot for this excellent answer! I will have a look at it and order a new sim.

Do it. I did mine several days ago. You won't regret. The sim price is really low and the shipping process super fast. Thus, easy to update.
