DM800se Ferrari SIM (2TB HDD initialize problem) - 10/30/19 04:49 PM

Hello,
have some problems initialize 2TB HDD 3.5" with External Enclosure. Recently I flash my box again with DE OBH 1.4 image, there were some issues and the box doesn't work well, so I decided to clean disk after so many years with fresh formatting in NTFS and everything went well. Then I try to mount HDD because I want to try some option with picons, but the mount was unable, doesn't work here and USB as well. After that I have only error "Mkfs failed", unable to initialize 2TB HDD.

- DM800se SIM Ferrari v1
- OpenBlackHole Ferrari-dm800se SSL82F DTS CrossEPG Cron DEBHGUI with AUTO-DVBT DynDNS v3
- OE 1.6
- 2TB HDD connected with eSATA port

Have you some advice what to try to initialize 2TB HDD working on this image?

You need to update the image thru the Japhar Addon Manager, on the second page you have the "update" section for the image OpenBlackHole 1.4 by Toysoft.

This done, then you will need to use in the Paramaters Section, the Hard disk tool, to format it with the compatible file format for the image/Kernel.

Can you please confirm, is this what you suggested?

- Suport DE-OBH 1.4 (DTS-DVBT-EPG-Cron)
- DM800se Update after install v1/v2/v3...v4(29.9.2011)

Yes, that's the thing I was talking about,

DM800se Update after install v1/v2/v3...v4(29.9.2011)

and then apply the last patch

DM800se : Last image Patch / Fix (Update January 2016)

Morning,
yesterday I made the Update and apply last Patch as you suggested, restart E2 and all options in BH image working now and the OSD Clock to, finally :), but the problem with 2TB HDD still remains.

Before I try to initialize I have formatting HDD in Windows in NTFS format as I usually do and I have checked the hard from errors, but nothing found. The HDD Case 3.5" is new, recently bought...

I go to...
- System
- Harddisk
- Initialize HDD (red button)

and the same error apiers, "Mkfs failed", have I doing something wrong?

Thanks admin for your help, I appreciate this!

Try with your PC to remove the partition, then try again with your Dreambox to create the patition with the Hard Disk Tools,

Hello,
I tried but nothing works, every time I have the same error...

- have tried through eSATA port several times (initialize HDD),
- tried with internal 2.5" HDD 250GB,
- tried with USB 2.0 cable as USB,
- tried with new SSL84F and DE-OpenBlackHole 1.4 SSL84F with FAM 5.1 image,

I really don't know what the problem is?

Hello,
have you some idea what can I try to get HDD working, some plugin or via telnet?

The only way I see, is to use the format commands thru telnet/ssh, if the plugins are not working, or install a newer image that could have this working (format/partition, etc).

Probably this topic could help you, http://www.ourdreambox.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1705#Post1705

I have solved my problem with 2TB HDD, finally. smile But I don't have used a format command via telnet or some other image, I have used another E2 Box and make initialization through him, everything works fine and I make a mount on USB stick for picons to.
