For the DM500HDv2 and DM800HDseV2, there is only the SSL88 and SSL89.

If I were to do it again , I would first remove the chip and place the SIM card .

Then with DreamUP_1_3_3_12 , which should work now because original software is present,
I would install Japhar software.

If you first install the Japhar software with the browser, you do this without the Japhar sim present
, that could make a difference . And you can no longer use DreamUP_1_3_3_12 .

DreamUP_1_3_3_12 is not difficult to use, only the driver for the Dreambox is difficult to find .

Nope, you should first keep the chip and flash the Japhar image with SSL89J.

Then only after replace the chip by the Japhar Sim.

The point here is that the SSL89 is not accepting to flash the older SSL (that is only the SSL88). So once your original box has an SSL89, you must only flash an SSL89 or SSL89J (as well as image needs to contain it, or you flash the image and immediately after flash the SSL89J, then only reboot the box).

That did not work . twice .
You get it boot up but than only black screen , it does not go all the way .
I think you have to get a image that works with the chip and has 89 .
You have to flash it with DreamUP_1_3_3_12 , flashing with browser does not work .
The boot 89 in an original image , wich you use with the brower does not flash the jahar image ok .
it does not flash the boot .
I think that only DreamUP_1_3_3_12 flashes the images right .
I did some 40 different flashes on 2 v2 boxes solderd the chip in and out 20 times or so .
This is all i come up with .
But have enough of it now , it works now with openatv , the motherboards do not survive more soldering ,
had to fix one bypass already .

Did you ever put a japhar sim in a V2 ?
I have some 15 Dreamboxes 800 ( friends , family , holiday homes, give them away )
and 4 Formuler F4 turbo (and some 15 tuners in the loft , am crazy ) so not all the way a beginner . And make mistakes .

My first V2 went well , these 2 should not be a problem .
See if can find another V2 , not easy , sellers don't even know they have a V2 , the remote is the indication .

Yes, replaced the chip in an original DM800HDseV2 by the Japhar, didn't needed the same MAC address... on DM7020HDv1 the MAC address on Japhar Sim must be same as on the original Sim/Chip.

The first V2 i did , did not need the same mac adress .
Just ordered a sim for V2 , all ok
Tryd the same sim for the new ones , no go .
You made me 2 new sims for the new boxes , no go .

It seems i lose the boot file , if possible , failed 2e , all the time .
Flashing ,secondstage-dm800sev2_SSL89J_v6.nfi is not possible

Only flashing opnatv with DreamUP_1_3_3_12 gets me a boot file back .
Flashing with JapharFlasher_1.1 does not work .
And browser does not work with , 2e failed .

Did you tried to flash the original image, then without rebooting, flash the SSL89J ? (Then only after insert the Japhar Sim).

On past tests, I seen that the DM800HDseV2 boxes weren't able to downgrade to the SSL88, perhaps then there is more, could fail to update to the SSL89 if it already has it in ?... seems the case with your description.

The DM800HDseV2 I have here, got the same as your first box, just needed any MAC and it worked converted to Japhar.

Hello .
Tried every thing , the first thing you do is to start over from the beginning . Bring it back in the original state as good as possible .
Put the chip back ,original software , en start over , about 4 times per box .
The first one i did a year ago had original software , i followed the tutorial , no problem , it had some memory issues , you see when flashing
but workes fine .
The other ones had newnigma2 on it .
These two v2 go to our appartments at Tenerife , so i don't see them much and they work .
They have the advantage i can flash them from the box , i can flash them without help , from home over the internet .
I stil think there is a problem with the boot flashing , at some point you only get , 2e failed , you never get
, no ca found , any more .

Found me another 800se V2 .
But it has memory problems , when flashing i see several .
I have 4 V2 boxes , 2 have memory problems . from 10 normal boxes i have ,only 1 had memory problems!
Does V2 have bad memory chips ??.
I am not gonna try to put the sim in it .
Results will not be predictable .
The other box with the bad memory has a working sim !
Looking for an other V2 , i have no rest before trying again .

Johnny could be able to replace the flash chip, of the v2 box.

On 1 Gb Flash boxes, there is and it's normal, a lot of flash bad sectors, in fact it is not a problem. Just do a Flash Clean / Scan, to be sure all is properly checked and real bad sectors marked.
