Images are different images and every driver needs to be compiled for the image it is used with.

If the current driver on the image doesn't work, we don't have the possibility to use drivers from other images. The only way is to get the source code from the working driver and compile it for the image.

You cannot use driver from one image into another one.

openpli or openblackhole image from 6 monts ago, usb key was working, o.k.

We had no OpenBlackHole 6 months ago, the first one is the actual one. And concerning the OpenPLi 4.0 IPTV, it would be important to know until which version it worked, as without as much as possible precisions we cannot check.

How to install a DVB-T stick with OpenPLi 4.0 IPTV ?

You need to know which chipset/dongle you have, then you can easily with 4 commands do all the job, you will need to send them with Telnet/SSH,

opkg update
opkg install --force-overwrite v4l-dvb-module-dvb-usb
opkg install --force-overwrite v4l-dvb-module-dvb-XXXXXXXXX
reboot

Where the v4l-dvb-module-dvb-XXXXXXXXX is the name below of your chipset/dongle.

Then to load the module for example do this :
modprobe XXXXXXXXX (= Module below, eg "smsusb")

or

insmod smsusb.ko
insmod smsmdtv.ko

The table of the Dongles recognized is (in green the name to add to the 3rd command above).

If you read the title of the topic we gave you as example, the topic was about the A867 as example. Then you have to deduct the proper name depending if its for DM or VU, and naturally which chipset you want to install that is in your DVB-T Dongle...

So I don't see the point on reposting what we posted, instead you have to read it and deploy the logic to use and deduct what should be the name of ipk to install from the feeds.

The names of ipk/packages are different depending of the image these are built for, and naturally the chipset it target for installation... there is not one general name that works with all dongles and all boxes for sure. You need to logically deduct what it should be or check on the feeds on the box which one with grep is available for the model you need.

On our answers we gave you the name of the files for the A867 for VU+ and for DM. From these you should be capable of deducting what it should be.

The packages are on the feeds, you need to install with the command line as explained. You cannot use our drivers in other images that are not our images (like on an original OpenPLi 4.0 image).

driver af9015 is good, this image is not working with this drivers, and there are a lot of af9015 usb dongles out.

i did fresh install of latest image...

it was working on openpli4 and openblackhole i tested 8 months ago..

it is easy to say that is not supported, but if this same usb key was working for years... there is something wrong here.

There is only that file for that image. If it installs, it's not "corrupted". Only person who can fix this is the author of the image who compiled it.

Try, we never know, the drivers you can find for VU+ Solo on the Driver section for DVB-T. But these need to be for AF9015, VU+ Solo and same image and Kernel as the one installed... http://www.ourdreambox.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=117&page=1

i think that dev can fix this...it seams that module is not working on this image..

i can try with original openpli - not japhar and i can report..

for sure i can not use this image if usb tuner is not working... but i have japhar dm500 /800 nad is so fast, compered with vu+solo...

because of this i took few hrs today in order to make usb-tuner work..
but nothing...

and openblackhole image is still with problems because of wrong skin...

But be sure that your comments are taken to the development ;o), so next step I think is that we will buy all the DVB-T Sticks around and check every driver. As the A867 is 80% of them (and perfectly working on all our images), the others we didn't checked them (yet).

now i downloaded openblackhole 0.6 and is working from first boot -- i did not need anything..

af9015 was way before than sky digital key...

openblackhole and blackhole, have the same source code for the drivers, so if it worked on BH as you told, then definitely on the official OBH, it should work.

But still the source code for the drivers is not public, so every team does his own.

No, there is something that is not compatible between the driver AF9015 and YOUR dongle. As other dongles worked.

You surely need to know that a Driver is not working with only 1 model of Dongle, but works often with tens of Dongles with the same chipset... so this means YOUR dongle is not working with the image driver from the feeds.

Naturally that indication has to be checked and if possible fixed to have a more widely working driver in our images.

any way japhar openpli4 is very fast and bezter thayn openblackhole 0.6..

i see that same hdcam movies will crash blackhole and openblackhole image, but openpli japhar is working...

Don't worry Kikan, and don't be sorry. We would love that all DVB-T would work, but it's a day by day work to get all working and patched etc... so your indication is helpful and we will take care of the issue.

openblackhole is quite nice, there is a lot of improvement from 0.1 version that i tested...
now usb-t is working automatically.

I will see how many times will crash when watching strange video like hdcams etc..

only openpli4 japhar can show me those movies without problems.. do you know where is the catch?

blackhole and openblacjhole will crash and reboot...japhar will not...

and how can i put mediaplayer in menu ?

This topic is about OpenPLi 4.0 IPTV... not openblackhole or blackhole etc...

Concerning the OpenBlackHole IPTV from Japhar/MastaG, it's the first release so definitely in Beta stage and would need to be improved.

All players etc are built-in the image, so you cannot copy from one image to another... you need to use the image that has it built-in.
