Telecom Italia unveils details of Eurosport offering

Telecom Italia (TIM) has fleshed out how it will enhance its sports TV offering following its landmark deal with Discovery to become an official mobile broadcaster for the Olympic Games.

TIM said that live events on Eurosport Player, the Discovery-owned sportscaster’s online TV service, will be available via its TIMVision decoder, along with linear channels Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2.

TIM customers will have access, free of charge for the first year, to Eurosport Player, including all interactive content with multiple camera angles, news, highlights and short-form content.

This strategic partnership allows TIM customers to watch the forthcoming Winter Olympic Games of PyeongChang in 2018 and the summer Games of Tokyo 2020, with over 4,000 hours of transmission available via Eurosport Player directly on the move and via the TIMVision decoder .

In addition to the Olympics, content available will include the Grand Slam Tennis tournaments – the Australian Open, Roland Garros and US Open ­– the FINA Swimming and IAAF Athletics World Championships, the Basketball EuroCup and all winter sports, and major cycling contests the Giro d’Italia, Tour de France and Vuelta de España.
