You didn't broke any rules (and here we are not hard rules people), it's just not a hard rule but more a soft rule due to "bon sens".

We prefer to not have such comments/discussions that other forums do extensively already (and much better for sure), this to protect the group/forum from any use of these arguments to shut up us.

The important is that you have now clear ideas about your hardware and it's capacity to be improved on next years just because the hardware is far enough powerful and hopefully software is supported by the Team that adds anything that can be handy for the community.

So keep your DM8000HD, these will work at least 5 more years, and software will continue to improve, hardware being already far enough at level of the needs (Ram, Flash, CPU, Codecs H264/MPEG4 that is mainly HD, MPEG2 that is SD, etc). Only the H265/HEVC and DVB-T2 could change the things, but even a DVB-T2 dongle can be added to it, until the H264 is used (and not H265, but new DVB-T2 includes H264 and H265 standards as not all channels will need H265 that is more due to very big streaming channels like 4K and high quality HD).
