There could be multiple reasons why it doesn't boot, this is the reason why it's important to know exactly what you have on the LCD screen of your DM8000HD when you think it stops booting, and that you flash the image at the end only and not after flash any other thing such as the SSL (as it's already built-in the image). The image is working, it's the official image patched with Japhar Drivers and we done the backup of it, that is the image you flash.
