Fancontrol2 have a (test) option to set the software for 3-pin, or 4-pin fan.
Suppose it's set on 4-pins, than a 3-pins fan will never stop. But also, you need to do the test in order to have the settings correct.
Obviously, the fan need to be connected to the J802 fan connector, otherwise it will not work.
